Cooling System Notes
Notes on warehouse and data center cooling:
Air duct size calculations:

- allow 400 CFM per ton of cooling
- recommendations are to keep total pressure loss below .1 inches H20 (IWC)
- e.g. for a 50 ft run of flex @ 1200 CFM you would need a 16" duct
- the notes at the bottom of the spreadsheet would seem to indicate that you can get away with higher pressure loss and higher FPM in return for more noise -- but see the ucf paper for costs
- looks like 14" would be a good compromise, at .2 IWC; use 25' wire flex over ceiling, 7.5' alumaflex sections over warehouse, reducing by 2" dia at each dampered 10" vent
- looks like we might have enough capacity to put 2 10" vents each on E and W walls, each vent flowing 300 CFM @ 550 FPM (keep FPM low to keep from stirring up hot air overhead)
